We are honoured to be picked as one of Cllr Martin Rowley’s chosen charities as he takes office as the new Lord Mayor of York.
Each year, the civic party selects charities to support for their period in office. This year, the right honourable Lord Mayor of York, Cllr Martin Rowley, and The Sheriff of York, Paul Doughty, will be supporting Family Matters York, Royal British Legion and York Against Cancer.
Throughout the civic party’s year in office, they will fundraise for their chosen charities and help to raise awareness of each cause. We couldn’t be more grateful to be part of the fundraising efforts and look forward to working together over the next 12 months.
This remarkable opportunity will help us support cancer patients and their loved ones across York, North and East Yorkshire through services such as our minibus transport to radiotherapy treatment in Leeds, our respite breaks in Filey and Yapham, and our cancer support centre, The Leveson Centre.
