There are so many ways you and your work colleagues can get involved with fundraising for York Against Cancer, whether you’re an individual or working with a group. We rely on business charity donations to fund lifesaving research as well as care and crucial support.
To get your business involved, try one or more of these fundraising ideas.
Whether it’s an awards event, client incentive or general get-together, there are all sorts of ways you can donate to York Against Cancer. For example, you might consider giving a portion of any ticket sales to the charity, or hosting a raffle on the night. Even a simple collection tin is a great place to start – and you can talk about us on your social media pages.
Implement a Give as You Earn scheme
To encourage regular donations among your employees, why not set up a Give as You Earn scheme? Speak to your payroll team to set up a tax-free donation direct from your team’s salaries. You could include this as one of your employee benefits, and discuss it in company literature such as the employee handbook. As a thank you to your employees we will send you updates on our work.
Representatives from the charity can offer free talks to your employees about the realities of living with cancer. You can use your workplace to host these talks, promote the cause on social media, and have a collection tin or donation forms for your employees. Your teams can sign up to regular donations if they wish through our secure website.
Volunteer your time
Not every contribution has to be financial. We encourage employers to offer their staff paid time off to volunteer. Your teams could help out in our shops or run an event.
Run your own events
Whether it’s a charity spin-a-thon, bake sale or any other kind of teambuilding event, why not do it for a good cause? This is a great way to get your business in the press and raise essential funds. You can get the whole team on board for whichever kind of events suit you.
Become a corporate partner
Some local businesses like to become corporate partners of charities. This usually means they have a chosen charity for a period of one year or more, and donate funds from their events to the charity. Please let us know if you’d like to choose York Against Cancer as your charity. We will provide you with our charity logo to use in your communications as official partners. We will also recognise your business support on our website.
How to donate your funds
