Over £2000 raised by Ged Bell Butchers in 2023 Dragon Boat Challenge

We were proud to cheer on the fantastic team from Ged Bell Butchers at this year’s Dragon Boat Challenge on Sunday 9th July.
The money raised from the race will be split between each team’s chosen charity and York Rotary’s own picks of Big Future’s Foundation and Kyra Women’s Project. We were thrilled to be Ged Bell’s charity of choice once again this year, their team ‘The Growlers’ raising over £2000 in sponsorships and donations!

‘The Growlers’ performed spectacularly across the challenge, competing against 36 teams and coming a close second in the final. Heather Atkinson, Deputy CEO and Head of Finance, says, “It was a brilliant day of fundraising, and so exciting to watch the team as they raced for the winning spot.
“We’re so thankful for fundraisers like these as they not only allow the charity to continue the work we do, but also offer an opportunity to bring the community together in support of a wonderful cause. Thank you very much to Ged Bell Butchers and York Rotary for making the day such a success.”
