Professor Stephen Leveson Awarded MBE

We’re thrilled to share that Professor Stephen Leveson, one of the founders of York Against Cancer, has been awarded an MBE for his services to cancer patients in North Yorkshire!
Speaking to the York Press, Professor Leveson said the honour is “as much for the charity as it is for me – I’m very glad to accept it on their behalf. It’s all come as a surprise, but a pleasant surprise.”
Professor Leveson founded York Against Cancer in 1987 along with fellow surgeon, Mr John Craven and university researcher, Professor Colin Garner. Since then, York Against Cancer has raised over £20 million to support people affected by cancer across York and parts of North and East Yorkshire.
From everyone at York Against Cancer, congratulations Professor Leveson!
