We are YorkMix Choice Awards Charity of the Year!

We are thrilled to be the winners of the 2023 YorkMix Choice Awards Charity of the Year!

Thanks to your amazing support, we have managed to win Gold this May! We wish to extend a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us or sent us encouraging messages on social media.

This award is especially meaningful as it has been entirely voted for by the public. This means it is down to all of you, those with genuine connections to our charity, that we have managed to bring the trophy home and we couldn’t be more grateful for your support.

Deputy CEO and Head of Finance Heather Atkinson commented; ‘The last few years have been very exciting but also very busy. Our small team has worked exceptionally hard, especially with the planning and launch of our new cancer support centre, The Leveson Centre, so we are absolutely thrilled to have won this award. Thanks to everyone who voted, it really does mean so much!’

Our trophy is now displayed proudly in our office at York Stadium, along with the framed certificate.

This award is testament to the backing we receive from the local community and means so much to us. Thank you to each and every person that took the time to vote for us and consistently supports us in all that we do, we couldn’t do it without you!’

York Against Cancer only employs a small team, so winning this award helps us to show how much the community really impacts what we do. We depend on volunteers and local communities to raise awareness and without them our charity wouldn’t be where it is today.
