York Golf Club to host Charity Golf Day in support of York Against Cancer

York Golf Club’s annual Charity Golf Day is taking place on Thursday 14 July 2022 at York Golf Club, Strensall in aid of York Against Cancer.
The popular event organised by former Club Chairman Ralph Magee and supported by York businesses Cellhire and Your Move Anscombs is expected to attract around 100 local golf enthusiasts.
Last year – despite being a challenging year for fundraising – over £13,000 was raised to support the charity’s work in cancer care, research, and education across York, North and East Yorkshire.
Ralph Magee said “This will be the 19th Golf Day in support of York Against Cancer. Over the years, the events have raised over £135,000 to support local people and families affected by cancer and this year we’re obviously hoping to top the £150K mark, with the support of local people and businesses. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back to York Golf Club and hopefully welcoming some new supporters too.”
A light lunch will be served from 12 noon followed by a shotgun start at 2pm. A two course buffet dinner will be served at around 7pm, where an array of prizes will be presented to the winning teams.
Ralph went on to say, “We’d love to hear from anyone that might be able to donate an auction prize for this year’s event or sponsor a hole and have their company logo displayed prominently on the tee.”
