October is ‘Make a Will Month’.

04 Oct 2022

October is ‘Make a Will Month’. Here at York Against Cancer we rely on donations from local people to help us continue our vital work – providing care and support to people affected by cancer in the local area.

A donation left in a will (a legacy donation) could help support the ongoing running costs of our newest initiative – The Leveson Centre – a brand-new cancer support centre at York Community Stadium in Huntington, set to open soon.

The Leveson Centre will offer a home from home space for people across the region affected by cancer, offering a selection of holistic services in a non-clinical, comfortable, and relaxing space.

A legacy donation could also support our ongoing services including the Mobile Chemotherapy Unit, our minibus which takes patients from York and the surrounding areas for treatment at St James’ Hospital in Leeds; a respite home in Filey; as well as a world-leading cancer research programme at the University of York.

Make a Will Month is a good opportunity to get your affairs up-to-date and support a local charity doing great things! There are different ways to give a donation in your will. Find out more here.
