Netsells complete Total Warrior 6K for York Against Cancer.

28 Jun 2022

On Sunday 26 June 2022, a number of Netsells employees participated in ‘Total Warrior’ at Bramham Park, Leeds – a gruelling 6K mud-run with 17 obstacles, in aid of York Against Cancer.

James Martinez, Finance Assistant at Netsells Group said “As a business located in the heart of York, we wanted to give back to local people whose lives have been affected by cancer. We decided to take part in Total Warrior to help raise funds for a great charity that helps cancer patients in the York area”.

A group of 8 employees took on the challenge: Brannan Coady, Sam Jordan, Ryan Scaife, Rob Bellingham, Becca Anderton, Steve Sargeantson, James Martinez and Kirill Timofejev – all but one a Total Warrior first timer.

Becca Anderton, Head of Engineering said, “I was nervous going into it, as I hadn’t done one for a while, but taking part as a team was great fun and we actually ended up having a blast, despite being elbow deep in mud at times!

I think we’re all feeling the consequences the day after with a few bruises and aches shared between us – but it was definitely worthwhile knowing we did it to raise money for a fantastic cause. Everyone’s already excited about doing it again next year!”

The money raised will be used to provide care and support to cancer patients in York, North and East Yorkshire as well as fund lifesaving research into cancer at the Jack Birch Unit for Molecular Carcinogenesis.

Lauren Hudson, Head of Fundraising at York Against Cancer said, “As a local, independent charity, we rely on fundraisers and supporters to take on these sporting challenges and raise money for us – so we can continue to provide vital support services to cancer patients and their loved ones. A huge THANKYOU to the Netsells group for choosing York Against Cancer as their charity of choice. We really appreciate it.”
