R U Taking the P..? 2026

Location: Rowntree Park – starting from the older children’s play area
R U Taking the P…? is back this Father’s Day! On 21st June 2026, head to Rowntree Park to run 5K or 10K your way to raise awareness of prostate cancer and raise vital funds for York Against Cancer.
This fun run was established by York hairdresser Brian Hughes, a founder of Knavesmire Harriers, who was inspired to fundraise after a friend lost his life to prostate cancer.
We’re thrilled to add an option of a 10k this year, which will be the 5k route twice – pick your challenge and get running!
R U Taking the P…? is open to anyone over 8 years old who would like to join us to help to raise awareness of prostate cancer, a disease which more than 50,000 people are diagnosed with in the UK every year. The event will raise funds for York Against Cancer to help us support cancer patients and their loved ones in York, North and East Yorkshire.
R U Taking the P..? is all about fun and fundraising, meaning no pressure! Run, jog, or walk at your own pace and enjoy the day while making a difference.
5k: £25
Age 8-16 entry (5k only): £12.50
Please note: anyone under 16 MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times. The accompanying parent/guardian must also be taking part in the event and must sign up separately.
10k: £35
