2008 Street Collection
Friday, 17th October 2008
Despite the gloomy news headlines, York people yet again proved just how generous they are by ensuring one of our most successful street collections ever - with a superb total of £2135.35.
The amount raised might have been slightly down on 2007 - but we had a record number of collectors out on the streets - well over 100!
"In 2007, the total raised included money from our special Christmas raffle, so in real terms, the 2008 street collection did make more money than ever before," said General Manager, Julie Barnie.
"We are extremely grateful to all those people who turned out - especially some really enthusiastic young people from Fulford and Bootham Schools."
Our next collection will take place at Saiunsbury's, Monks Cross, on Saturday December 6.
