Fundraising Events
There are a great many different types of fundraising event. There are those that are organised by the office staff, often with a team of volunteers - such as our Art Exhibition (held every two years). There are also events organised by members of our fundraising committee such as the Ball (also held every two years) and Hog Roast plus events organised on our behalf such as the annual Golf Day. Finally, there are sponsored events of all shapes and sizes from The London Marathon to a sponsored silence at school. If you need some ideas, please look back at past newsletters where we try to feature as many events as possible.
For bigger sponsored events, you may care to use our official sponsorship form. Please contact our office on 01904 764466 and we will arrange to send out the necessary forms. These forms enable you and your sponsors to comply with Gift Aid requirements ensuring that the charity gets additional tax donation benefits at no extra cost to your sponsors.
Another recent option for sponsored events is to use the independent website - www.justgiving.com - where you can set up your very own sponsorship page to benefit York Against Cancer. The Just Giving organisation make payments direct to us and even takes care of the Gift Aid requirements.
Whatever the source and however large or small the donation, we are extremely grateful for all the efforts local people make on our behalf. It is because of the amazing efforts of the local community that York Against Cancer is able to continue its work improving the lives of people affected by cancer in York and the surrounding area.
